All But Drams does not review whisky, rum, vodka or any other spirit. We love it, but we don’t review the liquid in the bottle.

Why?

• There are plenty of whisky reviewers out there all with different tastes and angles, but far fewer people covering events and bars.
• Your sense of sight, smell and taste are fundamental subjective elements of being a human being. Your enjoyment can be radically different to ours.

Here we cover the things that surround whisky, both material and experiential. In practice that means whisky festivals, bars and tours through to things like syrups, mixers and subscription services.

These things are all still subjective, but far less sensory than the spirit itself itself and less discussed by the whisky community. We also cover other spirits too where they intersect.

All But Drams was founded by Nick Marshall after he found that many of the whisky festivals he was attending had limited online presence and no consumer reviews.
